Heavy enough to do the work for you. Rest it on the skin and steer.

The comparison

What really sets the three apart.

Five-year cost: the razor at €75 plus one blade a week, from €0.25 for a standard blade to €1 for ours. Cartridge and electric figures are market estimates (handle or shaver plus refills, foils or heads); they vary by brand and how often you shave.

How it works

Thirty degrees. Set by the cap.

Rest the cap on your skin and lower the handle until the blade just touches. The cap fixes the angle at 30°, so your hand only has to steer.

Why one blade

Why one blade?

A multi-blade cartridge passes several cutting edges over the same skin. Grand Manner uses one blade. Shave with short strokes and no pressure. It takes a little practice to find your routine.

Hair is harder than you think.

Why the angle matters

Hair is harder than you think.

Beard hair creates resistance during shaving. A firmly held blade and a steady angle help you make controlled, even strokes.

Why it holds still

Built not to move.

The steel head holds the blade firmly in place. The cap sets the 30° angle, with no moving head. Use short, controlled strokes and let the razor's weight do the work.

Rinse it, dry it, stand it up. Change the blade on Sunday.

Comfortable everywhere.

For your face, head or body. One firmly held blade. Use short, controlled strokes without pressure.

The arithmetic

1 razor, kept for life
€1 a Sunday, one blade a week
€4.30 a month in blades

Ten blades for €10, one blade a week (House Rule No. 08).

Questions

Is one blade safe?

This is a safety razor with one blade. As with any razor, cuts are possible. Use short strokes without pressure, let the weight do the work and start with the grain.

Which blades fit?

Any standard double-edge blade. Ours come in a box of ten.

How long can you use one blade?

Plan on replacing a blade about once a week. How long it stays sharp depends on your beard growth, how often you shave and the area you shave. Replace it sooner if it starts tugging, feels dull or no longer shaves comfortably. Rinse it after use and let it dry.

How long does it last?

Built for long-term use. Rinse it, dry it and keep it on its stand. Lifetime warranty on the razor.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, for life. The razor is guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for as long as you own it. If it ever fails, write to us and we put it right.

When will it arrive?

Shipping to the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK is €6.95 below €80 and free from €80. Delivery details are provided with your order.

And if it doesn't suit me?

Return it within 30 days for a full refund. No questions asked.
